AUGUST 2020:
Chasing
Cars (crop 1)

I had one second to grab this shot after I heard the initial "oi"!
As I had been testing the (soon to be released) Revoring
vari ND lens filter from @hyfiltersglobal
that day (look out for my review coming soon!), I had my Canon 5D to
hand so could act fast, panning and squeezing the shutter just quick
enough to get a shot off.
Consequently, it's not a technically perfect image but it is a completely
instinctive shot. I'm pleased there's blur, as I don't think there'd
be quite the feeling of drama otherwise, but I'm happy the key elements
are clear/sharp "enough" (please use the arrow under the image
to see closer crops of the image).
I have no idea what caused him to chase the car... perhaps he was a
victim of theft (phones being grabbed are too commonplace), or happy
slapping (is that still a thing?), or maybe they're all mates playing
a prank?
In either case I think this scene poses a few questions and I like images
that set up a narrative to exercise the mind a little. I wonder whether
it's an image that someone would buy for their wall, though, which is
what I'm ultimately trying to achieve.
If this image is the first of mine you have seen, or you are generally
new to my work, please know I'm always keen to make new contacts and
push my photography to wider horizons. If you like what you see, say
hello!
If you are able to help bring my photography to a larger audience, then
lets talk! I'd be glad to hear from you!
Finally, prints
of this image are available, starting at affordable prices to encourage
new collectors. Signed archival quality prints are strictly limited
in number. Your support is very much appreciated.
