GULLS OVER KENNY'S

Gulls Over Kenny's is another gull pic (I'm obsessed with them!), an image I suspect may be liked more than many others of mine, judging by my research so far. I like the strong compositional structure with the gulls breaking it up just enough to add a touch of randomness.

However, I wonder whether its overall feel is too bleak to appeal to a wider audience. I was interested in the shape of the structure, like a gallows... and then the spikes on the wood to stop the birds congregating. It feels rather sombre to me, which I quite like, but appreciate it isn't for everyone.
