We Are Knuckle Dragger... big riffs, huge grooves and an intense live show... clever songwriting without being pretentious... and with the great Steve Albini producing the band's album you know they're a band not trying to hide behind a huge over-processed sound. Perhaps it's the Steve Albini production that prompted some to say their debut is the 'most important release since Nirvana's Bleach'. Well, you can see why I wanted to shoot a show! Imagine how pleased I was when I was told I had no restrictions and found I had the pit to myself!
It took 22 specifically taken photographs worked on over 48 layers in Photoshop to create this image. When printed to it's full size the bass drum measures 22" which is the actual size. Hopefully, it captures the essence of their live show and gives whoever views it a proper feeling of actually being there in the pit.
Thanks to We Are Knuckle Dragger for being so enthusiastic and supportive of my work! Find out more about the band at www.weareknuckledragger.com.
Below are all the photos I used and if you would like to see some pictures of it 'in progress' there's a couple in an album I set up on my facebook. Click here to see.
