Cornish harbour towns and villages are some of my most favourite places
to spend time. Part of the appeal is that these places still retain
many of their traditional ways, having not yet fully succumbed to the
modern ratrace lifestyle.
Over recent years I have seen harbour wall jumping happening more often.
I first saw it in Mevagissey, then the beautiful little fishing village
of Mousehole, but I have also now watched divers in St Ives and Newquay
too. I love the random nature of the spectacle... sometimes a dive,
sometimes a jump, sometimes there's a loss of control. Each jump is
rarely repeated the same way and it is always a challenge to time a
shot to catch the right moment.
These are my favourite shots so far. My intention is to continue adding
to the set as opportunity allows, perhaps even working towards one day
creating a book or exhibiting. I'd be keen to hear from anyone who may
be able to help me achieve that.
